About the test

This test shows how strongly you tend to avoid failure, risk and unpleasant situations in life, and whether caution, alertness and a wish to minimise possible mistakes are characteristic of you.

It looks at the traits you recognise in yourself, from brave and decisive to timid and vigilant, and shows how much of your behaviour is shaped by the wish not to make a mistake.

Methodology

The test is based on T. Ehlers’ methodology Personality Diagnostics for Motivation to Avoid Failure, which assesses how strongly a person is driven to avoid mistakes and unwanted consequences.

Each item offers three words that describe character traits, and the answers are checked against a key: only certain choices add a point, and the points are summed into one measure of how strongly the motivation to avoid failure is expressed. The app keeps the wording of the items, the answer options and the interpretation unchanged.

In each item you choose the one word that describes you best.

Results

After completing the test you receive an overall assessment of your tendency to avoid failure, from low to high, with the moderate range marked, together with a description of how this level tends to appear: in how quickly you act, how you weigh risks and how you treat your own mistakes.

The result helps you see whether you need a little more foresight or, on the contrary, permission to move forward without a full guarantee of success, and can be supplemented with personalized AI analysis in the Who Am I? app.
